The 9thterm at the Vocational Training Center (VTC) started on February 9th with 233 registered students. After placement tests and selections processes, 227 students were accepted to follow the classes. This term VTC Cipanas started with 4 English classes as well as 4 for Computer and 2 for Sewing. The course ended on April 30th 2015. The last final exam was held on May and there were 174 students who were entitled to a certificate due to their attendance and exam qualifications.
All students who attended regularly our Courses passed the final exam. The graduation of this term has been 100 % !!!
The enthusiasm of this workshop is very high, but unfortunately the weather was not very supportive. The third session had to be cancelled for bad weather. This year the rainy season was very long in the area of Cipanas with heavy rains up to May. We believe next term will be better since we get into the dry season. Even though the weather, a total of 92 participants attended our Workshops on Job Seeking Skills with the following themes:“Company’s perspective in employee recruitment” by Agus Triyanto (HRD Manager Hotel Novus Cipanas) and “Job interview and Company’s perspective in employee recruitment” given by Bapak Kadek (Operasional Manager Hotel Cianjur dan Palace).
On April 25th, 8 students from Singapore International School came to do community service at YUM Cipanas. Besides having YUM’s activities like: distributing packages with nutritional food to 25 YUM’s beneficiary children and working together in art and craft activities at the Library, they also participated in VTC’s English classes. They were in the conversation class for English Basic 3 and English Kids Class. Their visit was an excellent opportunity for our students to practicing their English and having an interaction with foreigners.
Neng Peni Novianti, Student of Sewing Beginner Class:
“I would like to thanks for all the good lessons and services during my course. There were so much knowledge and techniques that I did not know before. Now, I can manage to open my own business at home and also help my mother.”
Ai Salamah, Student of Computer Basic 4 Class:
“The computer material given by YUM VTC was more focusing and has more practice than theory. I feel more confidence to find a job or continue my study in Computer Science. The lesson that I learned related with web design, blog, Microsoft office and many others will be useful for me in the future. All the best for YUM VTC and crews”.
Thank you very much for all GlobalGiving Donors for your help.Through the VTC we can help to facilitate and accommodate students to improve their skills and by doing so, to improve their qualify of life and those of their communities in the future.
Thank you !!!!
