VTC Courses

YUM started a new VTC Courses in mid-June offering: English (4 levels); Computer (3 levels) and Sewing (2 levels). Our tutors are very happy on the interest and attendance of our participants and confident they will do very well at the time of facing their final evaluation scheduled to take place in mid-September.

Dede, Student of Basic 1 Computer Class

“Before I never had the chance to be in front of a computer therefore I had to learn starting from the hardware. Now I am familiar and smarter in using the computer and excited to see how many things I can do.”

Neng, Student of Sewing Class

“This class has broaden my horizon and upgrade my sewing skills. My tutor is very patient with all students and I am very happy to see how much I am learning.

Workshops

The highlight activity during this term has been our Workshops directed to our VTC students and some outside participants in how to prepare them in getting a job. “How to make an atractive Application Letter and CV” and the “Importance of the Interview” were the themes chosen. Indeed, those fit the need of our participants who deseperately look for jobs in the area, site of many 2 or 3 starts hotels receiving influx of visitors coming from the nearby capital, Jakarta, during weekends.

That was the reason to choose Speakers from the Hostelry field. The first workshop was delivered by the Room Manager of Hotel Cianjur, and the second by the Operational Manager of Hotel Puncak Institute. YUM was happy to see how our Aula was fully attended.

After the sessions, we were happy when participants expressed their gratitude to YUM for the chance given to them in knowing about what Employer expects when receiving a Job Application Letter and the important of them to show self-confidence in the interview.

Hope our workshops has been useful for some of our participants to find a job and able to improve their quality of life.

Thank you GlobalGiving Donors for imparting to hundreds of young people skills. Many others are waiting their chance, through the YUM VTC project, to improve their quality of live and YUM rely on your valuable and continouos support for them to attain it. Thank you.
