The Solar Lantern project continues to bring clean, reliable light to off-grid families and students across rural Tanzania. During this reporting period, we closely followed the progress of our Nanofilter and Biogas programs, which are being developed for carbon credits with OYU Green India. Although the Solar Lanterns are not yet under audit, this quarter has been crucial for learning and preparing to follow the same carbon credit pathway. We have started gathering usage data and exploring how the avoided kerosene emissions can be measured and verified for future registration. Our goal is to make the Solar Lantern project ready for carbon credit verification in the near future, ensuring long-term sustainability beyond donor funding. Meanwhile, the social impact remains remarkable — hundreds of families now enjoy safe light, reduced household expenses, and extended study hours for their children. We are profoundly grateful to our GlobalGiving donors for their consistent support. You are helping us move from “light for learning” to light for climate resilience. Together, we are proving that small lanterns can make a big environmental difference. Stay blessed!
