This project will provide solar lighting systems for 20 rural schools in Ghana to improve learning conditions and extend study hours. Many schools lack reliable electricity, limiting teaching and learning activities, especially during early mornings and evenings. By installing solar lighting, this project will create a safe and well-lit environment that supports better education outcomes.
Many rural schools in Ghana do not have access to reliable electricity. As a result, classrooms are often poorly lit, making it difficult for students to learn effectively, especially during cloudy days or early evenings. Teachers also face challenges in delivering lessons, and students have limited opportunities for extra study time. This lack of lighting negatively affects academic performance and school engagement.
This project will install solar lighting systems in 20 rural schools, providing clean and reliable energy for classrooms. The systems will include solar panels, batteries, and lighting fixtures to ensure consistent power supply. Schools will be supported with basic training on system use and maintenance to ensure sustainability.
The project will improve learning conditions, increase study time, and enhance overall academic performance. Access to reliable lighting will also create safer school environments and enable additional educational activities. Over time, this will contribute to better education outcomes and improved opportunities for students in rural communities.
