CAPEC Pupils Wins ICT Best Prize in the District

By Sylvester Renner | Project Coordinator

Planting trees
Planting trees

As shared in our last report, the class 4 and 5 pupils have learned to produce the school newsletters and class registers. They are able to register data for each pupil such as birthdays, absentees, role calls, sick permission etc. The children have developed data on the tree planting exercises that were carried out around the school environment and the surrounding communities. This amazing success is due, in large part, to your generosity.

Apart from the Bitame Lucia School pupils close to 40 children in the past three months from the neighboring communities have been trained in the computer room, and this has gone a long way to bring a change in the community and the way children and parents look at communication and computer education. Bearing in mind that, it has been introduced in the national school curriculum in Cameroon from Primary 1. The generous donations we receive every year go directly to the children and community and help to provide a better future for them.

In the ICT competition among primary schools that was organized in the Mefou - Afamba District where the school is located, the Bitame Lucia School came first, and the parents were greatly impressed.  Parents from neighboring communities are coming up to enroll their children.

We thank you very much for your continued support, in keeping this centre moving.

Want to help be a part of making more change happen?  Starting at 12:00 am EDT on Wednesday March 14th, GlobalGiving will be matching all donations made through www.globalgiving.org (including this project) up to $1,000 per donor at 30%.

This means that your donation of $100 will be supersized and become $130!  $1000 will become $1300.  This is an amazing opportunity to make your donations go even further and help us do even more.  We would so very much appreciate your support - that will help us continue to provide training to these children.  Thanks for your support.

Thank you change maker!
