Dear Supporters!
Throughout the school term, while our main focus was on preparing for the summer, we made sure not to lose momentum during the quieter months. To keep the rhythm going and stay connected with the kids, we organized two winter camps—one in Csíkszépvíz and the other in Csomortán. These mini-camps gave everyone a chance to gather, have fun, and keep the camp spirit alive despite the cold weather.
Behind the scenes, we've been busy getting everything ready for summer. One big task we tackled was upgrading our summer camp storage—we added new shelving to help keep things organized and make set-up and clean-up easier once camp is in full swing. We also gave all of our “party” costumes a good wash and went through all our equipment, repairing or replacing anything that was missing or worn out. It’s a lot of little things, but they make a big difference once camp starts.
Right now, we're in the process of reaching out to different villages to set up the summer camp schedule. We're working hard to finalize dates and locations so we can bring camp experiences to as many places as possible. What’s been really encouraging is the excitement we're already seeing—many parents have already started asking about camp dates, and we’ve run into several kids around town who told us they’re eagerly counting down the days until summer. That kind of enthusiasm really motivates us!
We’re also thrilled to share that four long-term volunteers have already signed up to stay with us throughout the summer, and we’re hoping to welcome two or three additional short-term volunteers as well. With this strong team in place, we’ll be able to run more camps and reach more children than ever before.
With less than three months to go until our first camp kicks off at the end of June, the whole team is buzzing with energy and excitement. There's a lot to do, but knowing how much the kids and families are looking forward to it keeps us inspired. We can’t wait to dive into another summer full of fun, learning, and unforgettable memories.
