Dear Valued Donor,
We are reaching out with a heartful update about a brave little boy whose life was forever changed—and saved—thanks to your generosity.
Yazan, a young child forcibly displaced with his family in northern Syria, recently suffered severe trauma due to a tragic accident. A fire broke out in their temporary shelter due to a faulty heater, engulfing the small room he was in. Sadly, his cousin, who was with him at the time, did not survive.
Yazan himself suffered second-degree burns across parts of his body. He was rushed in critical condition to one of the specialized burn units operated by SEMA hospitals in northern Syria. The medical team acted swiftly, admitting him to intensive care and initiating urgent burn treatment protocols.
Thanks to your support, we were able to provide the necessary emergency interventions, including life-saving treatments, pain management, and specialized wound care. Without your help, Yazan might not have survived.
Over the past few weeks, Yazan has undergone multiple skin graft surgeries and reconstructive procedures. Each step has been painful, but this resilient child is showing incredible strength. His wounds are healing steadily, and he is now in stable condition. He continues to visit the hospital regularly for follow-up treatment and rehabilitation.
We cannot emphasize enough: you helped save his life.
Your compassion reached a child in one of the most vulnerable places on earth. Your donation translated into urgent care, surgical expertise, and a real chance at recovery for Yazan.
On behalf of his family, the medical staff, and all of us working on the ground—thank you. Your support brings hope, healing, and dignity in the darkest moments.
Warm regards,
