Dear Supporter,
Thanks to your generous support, we are proud to share a groundbreaking medical achievement at the Specialized Surgical Hospital in Idlib, funded in partnership with the European Union and implemented by SEMA.
For the first time in northern Syria, the hospital successfully performed an Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (EVAR) to treat a 65-year-old patient with a severely enlarged abdominal aorta (65 mm), compounded by cardiomyopathy and reduced blood flow. This advanced minimally invasive procedure represents a significant leap forward in vascular surgery, offering a much safer alternative to open surgery. Remarkably, the patient was discharged in excellent condition just 36 hours after the procedure.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Jibran, Vascular Surgeon from France, for his expert guidance, and to the dedicated medical team:
This achievement reflects SEMA’s unwavering commitment to bringing the highest standard of medical care to the people of Syria.
Dear Supporter, it is thanks to your generosity and trust that we can continue making these life-saving interventions possible. Your support is transforming healthcare in Syria, giving hope and healing to thousands. Together, we are shaping a healthier and brighter future for the Syrian people.
With deep gratitude,
The SEMA Team
