Your Support Helped Train SEMA's Protection Teams!

By Baraa Ali | Fundraising Officer

Dear Supporter,

We are pleased to share an important update from the SEMA Protection Department regarding recent capacity-building efforts for our teams in northern Syria.

SEMA recently conducted a specialized training program in Idlib focused on three key areas:

  • Case Identification and Referral

  • Awareness on Explosive Remnants of War (ERW)

  • Child Protection

This training brought together SEMA’s protection teams and community volunteers with the goal of strengthening their skills, enhancing their ability to respond to sensitive protection cases, and ensuring they apply the highest standards of safety and dignity while serving vulnerable populations.

Through this initiative, our teams are now better equipped to:

  • Identify protection risks early

  • Provide proper referral pathways

  • Raise awareness on war remnants

  • Deliver safer, more child-centered services in the field

This effort reflects SEMA’s ongoing commitment to building strong, well-trained local teams capable of providing high-quality protection services to those who need them most.

Thank you for supporting programs that strengthen communities and safeguard vulnerable families across Syria.

With gratitude,
