Dear Supporter,
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to you for standing with vulnerable patients in northern Syria. Thanks to your generous support, SEMA’s medical teams continue to provide critical, life-saving care inside our hospital in Idlib — care that many families would never be able to access on their own.
Today, we are honored to share with you a story that reflects the true impact of your compassion.
Recently, our surgical team treated a patient suffering from a severe acute gallbladder inflammation, a condition that can quickly become life-threatening if not addressed promptly. The patient arrived in intense pain, with worsening symptoms and limited financial means. Without immediate intervention, the infection could have spread, leading to dangerous complications.
But because of your support — he did not face this crisis alone.
Our medical team performed a laparoscopic cholecystectomy, a minimally invasive gallbladder removal procedure carried out with precision and advanced laparoscopic equipment. This technique allows us to:
Reduce surgical trauma
Minimize pain after the operation
Lower the risk of complications
Enable faster recovery and a quicker return to normal life
The surgery was successful, and the patient is now safely recovering under medical supervision. His gratitude — and the relief felt by his family — is a direct result of your generosity.
For families living through displacement, poverty, and limited access to healthcare, such procedures are often impossible to afford. Yet, because of supporters like you, SEMA’s hospitals remain a refuge of hope, where patients receive dignified treatment regardless of their circumstances.
Your contribution didn’t just fund a surgery —
you restored health, comfort, and peace of mind to a struggling family.
Thank you for making this life-saving intervention possible and for continuing to stand with our patients in their most difficult moments. Your compassion truly saves lives.
With gratitude,
