Dear Supporter,
Thank you for standing with our most vulnerable patients when they need it most.
We would like to share a recent story that reflects the real, lifesaving impact of your generosity.
Baby Zuhour, a newborn girl, was brought to Ariha Hospital, operated by SEMA in northern Syria, suffering from severe respiratory distress. She was struggling to breathe, unable to feed, and showing signs of cyanosis. Medical examinations revealed a chest infection, heavy nasal secretions, and wheezing. Born prematurely at 35 weeks via cesarean section, her fragile condition required immediate intervention.
Zuhour was admitted to the neonatal incubator and intensive care unit, where she remained under close monitoring and treatment for two full days due to a serious respiratory infection. Alhamdulillah, with timely medical care, her condition stabilized and she has now shown clear signs of recovery.
Zuhour’s family is displaced and living in extremely difficult conditions. Without access to specialized neonatal care, her story could have ended very differently.
Because of your support, we were able to save her life.
And because of you, we continue to treat hundreds of newborns every month, many arriving in critical condition—each one depending on rapid, high-quality medical care to survive.
Your continued support is not just appreciated—it is essential. It allows us to keep neonatal units running, incubators powered, medicines available, and medical teams ready to respond at any hour.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being a lifeline for Baby Zuhour and so many other newborns fighting for a chance at life.
With deep gratitude,
