Need some good news to brighten your day? Here it is!
We are delighted to share with you a video from the tailoring trainees that we together support at Develop Africa Empowerment and training Institute at Door of Hope in Sierra Leone. This video shows you the trainees sewing and showing beautiful, custom-styled, dresses that they have sewed. They also say a big “thank you” to you for your support.
You will notice in this video that some of them said they were idle doing nothing. This is a huge impact that we have made together - bringing hope, purpose, skill-learning and the opportunity for them to enhance themselves and earn a living. What better way to invest in people - than to equip them with skills and empower them to earn a living! This is worth shouting about - priceless and we are so grateful for your support!
In other news, Dr. Jasmine Renner, Develop Africa's Director of Development and international Outreaches, made a visit was to the made to the Institute in July and met the trainees. She gave a brief talk to the vocational skills training students, children of Door of Hope, teachers and staff. She encouraged them to be diligent in their business, to think creatively and to press to new heights of excellence in vocational and skills training. The Training Center at Door of Hope is a multi-purpose building / facility which on completion will include a vocational skills training school, a computer lab and other relevant facilities.
Bonus Day - October: October 17th - is the LAST Bonus Day of the year. GlobalGiving will be matching donations 30% up to $1,000 per donor, per project. We welcome your support now and then - helping us bring hope and empowerment to many, many more trainees.
We appreciate you so much for your support - more than you would realize!
