For this quarter's reporting, I want to take time to highlight some of the amazing accomplishments of Patient Assist VI in 2020. Did you know that we have acquired over 800 prescriptions for our patients this year? With a retail value nearing $500,000 this has been a year of great service to our community. These 800 prescriptions represent PAVI's ability to maintain the course and focus on our mission, which is to ensure no one is forced to choose between their basic living expenses and the medications required to stay healthy and productive.
Thanks to a generous grant, we were able to purchase and mail masks to our senior patients. Not only do we want to keep them safe and assist them with following mask guidelines, we also wanted to make sure they know they are cared about. Each senior received a letter reminding them that we are here and we care about their health and well-being. The response from our patients has been incredible!
We continue to receive referrals for patients who are out of work due to the pandemic. Many of these patients work at local resorts as housekeepers and maintenance staff. During this furlough or lay-off period, they have lost their access to health insurance. I am so grateful for our donors for ensuring we are able to continue providing for these needs.
As the end of the year quickly approaches, I want to thank each of you for supporting our mission and our patients. The PAVI team appreciates you and our patients appreciate you. Without your generouos support, we would not be able to continue doing this important work.
