By Sylvester Renner | Project Coordinator
Dear Project supporters,
We hope you are doing well in these unprecedented times.
Sports, as you know, is a big "attention-getter". It captures the passion of a large percentage of the population.
In Ghana - soccer is the most popular sport. With this in mind, we used this to help secure the minds of the attention of children and youth. We organized a sports competition between schools and churches. We used the occasion to encourage kids who were not going to school to attend school. You can see a photo of the players - included in this report.
We are happy to report that from June 5, secondary schools and universities will be reopened to students who have exams from June 15. Education is slowly resuming and getting back on track.
After a review during these unprecedented times, we have decided to streamline our fundraising efforts. We have decided to phase out some project listings here on GlobalGiving - particularly the ones that have not been as successful. This will help us to be more efficient and make better use of our time.
With this in mind, we will be phasing out this project shortly.
Should you be interested in supporting another youth or education-related project here on GlobalGiving, we warmly invite you to join us in educating leaders in Sierra Leone.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to email us at globalgiving@developafrica.org.
With much gratitude,
Sylvester and the Develop Africa Team
