YOUTHS LEADERSHIP AGAINST HIV/AIDS IN MOKOLO

The EFA Network of Cameroon, is doing efforts and initiatives to improve the leadership and members in all the 10 Associations of youths,to fight and eradicate the stigmatisation,discrimination against youths living with HIV/AIDS in the Extreme North Region of Cameroon.

In accord with it’s partership with Global Giving, and their engagement with the Associations of youths,EFA Cameroon will always assure and maintain the youths leadership and moreso,in the association to fight against HIV/AIDS in the Extreme North region.

            In addition, Education Fights Aids, has launched a campaign to re-construct the different youths group to fight against the ignorance of this epidemic  which  keeps weighing down youths in Cameroon . Their targets in the plan of action in 2018, is for the youths associations to engage in promoting Health « AJEPS MO » and secondly, in the lists of the 10 Associations of youths fighting against HIV/AIDS will benefits from the supportive projects of Global Giving and the experts of EFA Cameroon, will support the organising of transparent elections, before finally renew and established their executive office.

Concerning the material initiatives, AJEPS MO continues encouraging them with activities, like teaching and educating them on how to start small acivities that will generate them incombées. The EFA Cameroon team also encouraged the association of youths by giving them gifts to enable them achieve the necessary things needed to relaunched their various activities.

  GIVING OF GIFTS

The Association of youths for the promotion of Health in Mokolo, decided to expand and persue their small activities in the aspect of buying and selling of fowls or chickens.The EFA network gave them a cash to permit them achieve their communal objectives.

In what  concerns EFA experts to the association of the youths, the EFA Cameroon staffs participated in the General Assembly meant to renew the members of the executive office. Members in the former executive were old, and it was necessary to creat a new executive made up of youths. The new executive office will take  over and manage d’AJEPS but under our supervision. They accepted and an election was done to vote the new members in the executive office. The former president MOKOL Xavier, will assist and guide the new president WARDA Casmiri  who is a student, to fight against discrimination  and stigmatisation in their community inregards to the youths and HIV/AIDS.

 

 GENERAL ASSEMBLY,

The General Assembly began by the presentations of all participants and the visiting team. Followed by an analysis about the improvement and renovations of the association, then elections of the new executive office which was made up of :

-          President,

-          Vice-president,

-          Secretary,

-          Assistant secretary,

-          Treasurer,

-          2 Auditors,                                             

-          Counsellors,

 

Finally we took the impressions of the former and new presidents.

            Former président (Mr Xavier) : « I thank EFA deeply for all what they have done and continue doing since the creation of the association with dynanic members and attendants, giving of gifts etc, are the activities initiated by EFA with the aim of making us capable to independent like Evere other person. During my term of office as head of d’AJEPS, since 2008 that it was created till date, i am very happy with the experience i had and my support to my predecessor to continue persueing our objective in the association. Long live EFA and their continues support in the aspect of the formation of the new members from today.».

     

   New president (Mr Casimir) : « My mother is an old member of the association and i am just a student, and she told me to be part of the meeting and see the importance of the association. I was interested and happy to be elected the new president and counts on you all. With the help of the former president, i will use the association to sensitised the population. My thanks to EFA for the formation and permitting us the new members to bettes understand the objectives of the association ».
