Introduction

EFA Cameroon in partnership with WFP is conducting FFA (Food Assistance for Assets) activities within the framework of food security in the Bogo district. The project started on February 1, 2023 and will end on July 31, 2023.

Description

It consists of the creation of community assets and compensation for the food deficit of selected vulnerable beneficiaries who receive electronic cash transfer through. Given the presence of vulnerable families and children living with HIV/AIDS in this locality of Bogo.

Activity

EFA Cameroon proceeded to the identification of 12 household heads (7 women and 5 men)   representing families with a caseload of at least 5 people/household including children. As of date, these 12 identified households have received each electronic cash transfers to the tune of amount of 89,056 CFA francs.

Result

12 Households of persons affected or infected by HIV/AIDS in Bogo are financially strengthened to improve their food security and nutrition.

Impact

An improved livelihood and diet of constituents. Most of all, 12 families coexist normally with other people.

Future Activities

These participants are now working in harmony with the 488 other participants consisting of IDPs, returnees and vulnerable host populations in the creation of community assets (community fields, rehabilitation of rural roads, rehabilitation of local markets, composting...) to ameliorate their livelihood.

As Always, EFA Cameroon is grateful for the continuous trust of GlobalGiving and soliciting further assistance to cover more affected and infected people in the Far  North region in order to reinforce their capacities and reach the 20.000 planned target.
