Heritage Day: learners singing the national anthem
Heritage Day: learners singing the national anthem

Dear friends,

We would like to thank you for your support, it means a lot to us and to all the Eco-Club learners. Thanks to this money the children can still learn more about nature conservation and the importance of taking care of their environmental heritage.

In order to promote this cause the Daktari Outreach Programme celebrated Heritage Day the 24th of September.  Many people were there to see some amazing performances: Gumboots dance, traditional songs, poems… The show’s aim was to remember what the ancestors have left behind.  Not only what is in the past, but what is in their future too. To do so, the main message was to encourage the community to respect and look after the environment and the animals.

If you want to know more about this event, you can read the article we have in the local newspaper – please click on this link.

We also organized two game-drives with 16 children of the Eco-Club. The first one was in Tshukudu and the second one in Makalali. The learners were very lucky because they saw a lot of animals: more than 20 different species for each game-drive. Those excursions are essential for their training and we can only afford them thanks to your generosity. You have offered them the opportunity to realize how important is their heritage.

To finish, don’t forget our Facebook page. You will find a lot of pictures of all those events and even more... Don’t hesitate to share it with your friends!

Thank you again for your support.
