Water Out Of Safe Holder (WOOSH) Ltd is a non-profit organisation formed and legally registered with the government of Uganda aimed to stop water borne diseases escalation by increasing access to safe drinking water through improved filtration systems and improved sanitation.
There is a tremendous need, especially for high risk of unsafe drinking water, poor hygiene and sanitation, for programs that provide activities and support for communities in Uganda. In Uganda, many people do not have access to clean water whereby 75% of diseases in Uganda are caused by lack of clean water and proper sanitation. This project will address access to safe clean water and sanitation and improving water quality by increasing water-use efficiency across all sectors.
WOOSH provides affordable access to water and sanitation through the construction of wells, toilets, rainwater harvesting systems and other small-scale water systems, restoration of drinking water sources, and engaging in awareness and education initiatives that promote good hygiene practices. WOOSH also addresses cumulative impacts on local water resources impacting WASH outcomes.
The project will increase access to safe water, basic sanitation and improved hygiene leading to decreased waterborne diseases , better health, poverty reduction, and new opportunities for growth.
