Dear friends and supporters,
We sincerely appreciate your interest in the “PSEA Training for Staff/Volunteers of African NGOs” project. This initiative is designed to equip NGO staff and volunteers across Africa with the knowledge and tools to prevent and respond to sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA). At present, no donation has been received, and we are appealing for support to enable us to start this vital program.
Across the continent, many NGOs lack clear policies or training on SEA. Staff and volunteers often do not know how to recognize, report, or respond to abuse, leaving both workers and community members vulnerable. Survivors frequently face silence, stigma, or inaction, and unsafe practices can continue unchecked.
This project will provide practical training both online and in-person. Participants will learn to identify abuse, handle reporting safely, and establish internal protection systems. Sessions will be guided by real-life scenarios, supported with printed guides and referral contacts, and delivered in multiple local languages. The initial phase will target 200 NGOs in Abuja, Nigeria, while virtual sessions will reach an additional 800 NGOs across 52 African countries. Ongoing support will help participating organizations strengthen internal safeguards.
With proper training, NGO staff and volunteers will be empowered to act swiftly and responsibly. Work environments will become safer, communities will have greater trust in aid programs, and survivors will be more confident in coming forward. Over time, this can help reduce cases of sexual exploitation and abuse across humanitarian and community programs in Africa.
We appeal for your generous support to launch this project and ensure these crucial training sessions reach those who need them most. Your contribution can make African aid spaces safer and more accountable.
Kind regards,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
