Through psychodrama, Shining Star stimulates the inner potential of left-behind adolescent in junior high school and improves their self-confidence, social skills, and abilities to cope with stress. We hope to influence rural junior high school students through experiential participation in drama courses, improve their resilience, and light up the spark in their lives.
Junior high school students at this stage face needs and challenges for self-awareness and social role positioning.Due to the lack of family affection and guardianship, left-behind adolescents face great difficulties developing self-awareness, self-worth, and self-efficacy. What's worse! There is a lack of structured mental health curriculum and relevant support in junior high schools situated in mountainous areas.
Firstly, we will carry out follow-up resilience courses for 50 students from the first to the third year of junior high school to improve their sense of self-efficacy, school belonging, and optimism through drama courses; Secondly, we will recruit and train 20 university student volunteers, improving their communication skills, innovative practice skills, and teamwork skills to spread the psychodrama courses to left-behind adolescents.
1. Increase the resilience of 80% of rural junior high school students, and improve their internal motivation to overcome temporary difficulties; 2. Improve students' interest in learning and alleviate the pressure that comes with academic pursuits 3. Help junior high school students understand and stimulate recognition of themselves, improving self-esteem and reducing the risk of self-harm and suicide.
