In the early stage of the project, we went to Ailian Middle School and conducted a cluster survey on all the students in the first and second years of the school. We learned that family relationship and peer relationship are the two main factors that cause junior high school students to have mental health problems. In this special period, the way of drama can help them to better open themselves and explore their relationships with others.
On April 10th, we went to Ailian Middle School to provide a drama psychology class for one class in Grade One. There are about 60 students in the class. Because we have attendances amount limited for drama psychology class. So we had separate classes for boys and girls. Boys and girls have one lesson each.
In the course, students began to express different state emotions through some imitation of animals, and developed to use drama materials to express their own safe house. We read the picture book "Little Big Tree" together, and then each group performed a page of story content that they wanted to express.
Students were opening themselves up more and more to show themselves! In the process, we also constantly set up some aspects to encourage ourselves and others. After class everyone can be very loud to encourage themselves! What a meaningful and valuable time with them!
