Pajacyk is a program through which Polish Humanitarian Action (PAH) has been supporting children and youth in Poland since 1998. Pajacyk funds both nutritious meals and mental health support initiatives. Our ultimate goal is to ensure the health and proper development of every child.
Children and youth aged 6-18 across Poland are growing up in adverse environments that severely threaten their mental health and proper development. Many face a double burden: lack of regular, nutritious food and limited access to professional psychological care. Without immediate and systemic intervention, these young people remain vulnerable to isolation and severe emotional crises. Hundreds of institutions applied, but limited funding means we can support less than 6% of applicants.
The project delivers tailored, grassroots aid by empowering experienced local NGOs to address the urgent needs of vulnerable youth. We protect the mental health of children and youth by funding psychological consultations, support groups, and development workshops. To build a stronger safety net, we raise mental health awareness among parents, caregivers, and teachers, providing them with necessary guidance and support. Finally, we provide nutritional support by funding healthy meals in schools.
By fostering essential life skills and delivering continuous specialist care, the project empowers youth to successfully navigate crisis situations. It builds lasting emotional resilience and ensures the healthy physical and mental development of every child, regardless of nationality. Ultimately, it strengthens families and local communities by providing long-term support systems.
