Dear donors,
Rural villages in Nigeria affected by conflict are facing a silent crisis of trauma and mental distress. Women and children are the hardest hit, with grief, fear, and anxiety impacting daily life. Fewer than 10% have access to mental health services. This project will bring trained counselors and mobile psychosocial teams to 500 people, providing trauma counseling, group therapy, child-friendly activities, and volunteer training to ensure ongoing support. While initial support has been received, additional funding is urgently needed to cover staffing, outreach, and materials. Your contribution will help families regain coping skills, reduce long-term mental distress, and establish sustainable, community-led systems of psychosocial care.
Warm regards,
Joy O. Etubi
