This project will provide a care package of food to 200+ elderly centers, 10+ homeless shelters and around 15,000 families who have lost their income due to COVID-19 throughout Puerto Rico.
COVID-19 in Puerto Rico has left around 100,000 families without jobs, has left more than 800,000 elderly residents isolated in their homes and has left everyone scared. Many people do not have the resources or ability to go outside and purchase food during quarantine so we are helping families who do not have access to funds or nutritional resources survive 1 week with a care package of goods we provide.
We are providing immediate nutritional supplements to families who cannot afford to buy meals, to elderly residents who are isolated in their homes, to orphanages that are struggling with government subsidies, with homeless shelters that are at max-capacity and domestic abuse victims who are transitioning from their abusive relationships. We are supporting these people in need with a care package of food and exposing them to the wider network of support available for them throughout the island.
We are centralizing all of Puerto Rico's NGO's to create a network of mental health support, house construction/repair services, financing/accounting services and professional development opportunities for many families throughout Puerto Rico.
