In Iganga District, 41% of primary pupils drop out before Grade 7 (MoES 2023). SAP will sponsor 300 disadvantaged pupils with scholastic materials, meals, and sanitary pads, upgrade 10 school facilities, and train 80 teachers. Every child deserves a classroom with a roof, a book to read, and a teacher ready to inspire - regardless of their family income.
41% of Iganga pupils drop out before completing primary school, citing poverty, hunger, and poor facilities (MoES 2023). Over 55% of classrooms in rural Iganga have leaking roofs or mud floors (Iganga DEO 2023). Girls miss 4 days monthly due to lack of sanitary pads. Teacher absenteeism stands at 27%, driven by low morale and absent professional development.
SAP will sponsor 300 pupils with scholastic materials (books, pens, uniforms) and provides daily meals to 300 at-risk children. Sanitary pads to be distributed to 200 girls monthly. Ten school buildings are to upgraded with iron sheets, timber, and cement. Eighty teachers receive continuous professional development (CPD) training, boosting teaching quality and attendance
Dropout rates in supported schools fall by 50% within 2 years. 300 sponsored pupils complete their primary education. Girls' attendance rises from 64% to 90% following sanitary pad distribution. Ten upgraded schools serve 3,000 additional pupils in safe classrooms. Teacher morale and quality improve, raising district exam pass rates measurably by Year 3.
