The project, through a Radio and Digital Channel, seeks to prevent, assist, guide, accompany and welcome 2,000 women, children and the elderly who suffer domestic violence as a result of the long confinement by COVID-19 in the Arica-Chile region. The idea is to offer them free social, legal and psychological assistance, train in self-defense, promote skills that strengthen their personality, character and self-esteem.
The COVID-19 Pandemic is causing a sustained increase in domestic violence, both to women, children and older adults, according to the history of the National Women's Service and Gender Equity, intra-family violence has increased 72% more than the year 2019, the product of quarantine, cesanity and non-attendance at students' classes, generating stress , moodiness and intolerance to frustration and lack of livelihoods.
The Radio and Digital Channel will work Monday, Wednesday and Friday, in the hours of 09.00 in the morning to 14.00 in the afternoon, offering professional social, psychological and legal support and accompaniment. In the evenings from 17.00 to 20.00, phone 58 22313096 will be available for consultations and interventions in the next day's programmes. We will also teach self-defense, self-esteem, personality strengthening and prevention.
The project will train, guide, advise and accompany 2,000 women, girls, children and older adults in order to prevent domestic violence and the deterioration of mental health, as a result of long confinement, ensuring greater stability and preparedness to deal with the or problems of abuse.
