Juba's 1 million residents lack clean water, facing constant health risks. Cholera is a yearly menace. By installing rainwater harvesting systems in homes and public buildings, SSGID captures the precious water Juba receives for 4 months a year. This project provides safe, clean drinking water, reducing waterborne diseases like cholera and improving lives for ALL Jubans! Public schools are a priority where rainwater will be harvested using all-weather tanks not just small plastic containers.
Juba's 1 million people face a daily struggle for water. There is NO CLEAN WATER! The city relies on unsafe private water trucks, while rain, a wasted resource, falls for 4 months a year. The trucks are SO COSTLY!! This lack of clean water fuels diseases like cholera, harming everyone - families, children, schools, health centres, and businesses. "Juba Rain Catchers" with durable systems of SSGID offers a lasting solution. Poor citizens stand to benefit from this niche and timely action
SSGID will work with city authorities to identify the neediest communities including schools, health facilities, markets, sports grounds, and public transport parks. In these places, long-lasting all-weather rain-catching big tanks will be constructed. The area community leaders will be mobilized and trained to maintain the water points safe, clean, and hygienic. SSGID will ensure that corruption ( or charges) will not be introduced to deny deserving communities the game-changing clean water.
SSGID's "Juba Rain Catchers" project brings lasting change to the Juba City of South Sudan! Big water tanks in schools, clinics, markets, and more will provide clean water year-round, even in dry seasons. Trained community leaders keep the water points safe and freely accessible, ensuring a healthier future for ALL Jubans. This project breaks the cycle of waterborne disease and empowers communities to manage their own clean water source. This leads to long-term health, cleanliness and well-being
