Achievements of 2024 Made Possible Together with Our Donors
[DDing Dong achieved the highest number of counseling and crisis support cases since its establishment.]

• 537 Counseling sessions conducted
• 552 Crisis support cases (including housing, medical care, legal assistance, psychological counseling, and self-reliance support)
• 305 Cases of necessities provided to runaway LGBTIQ youth
• 411 Visits to the DDing Dong center

[DDing Dong is committed to advancing the rights of LGBTIQ youth.]

• 1,314 participants in the policy survey for “Let’s Raise the Rainbow in Our Schools”: Submitted a legislative proposal for an inclusive school environment to the 22nd National Assembly.  
• 37 participants from youth organizations in training sessions: Conducted basic and advanced training sessions titled “How to Engage with LGBTIQ Youth?” for youth organizations.  
• 9 transgender youth participated in filing a complaint about gender-marking on OMR forms: Submitted a petition to the National Human Rights Commission of Korea regarding human rights violations related to gender-marking on OMR forms.  
• 1,209 signatories joined the campaign calling for LGBTIQ suicide prevention measures: Submitted the petition to the Ministry of Health and Welfare, urging action on LGBTIQ suicide prevention.

2023-2024 DDingDong Annual Report, Thank You For Your Support!

Dear Donors,

DDing Dong is incredibly fortunate to have a community of international supporters like you.

Your deep understanding of the challenges faced by LGBTIQ youth in Korea and your continued support of our efforts have enabled us to provide the essential support these young individuals need.

As DDing Dong operates solely on donations without any government funding, the presence of each donor is a tremendous source of strength for us. Although many of our donors who contribute through GlobalGiving are based overseas, making it difficult for us to thank you in person, we wanted to reach out and keep you informed about the impact of your generosity. To this end, we have translated our Annual Report into English, summarizing our activities and the progress we’ve made over the past year.

Here’s a brief overview of the impact we've made together:

1. Counseling: We conducted 447 counseling sessions for LGBTIQ youth through in-person visits and calls.
2. Crisis Support: We provided 231 instances of critical aid, including housing, medical care, legal counsel, psychological counseling, livelihood support, and assistance towards independence.
3. Distribution of Rainbow Kits: Each month, we provided Rainbow Kits containing food and essentials to LGBTIQ youth who have run away from home. We sent out a total of 284 packages throughout the year.
4. Policy Improvement Initiatives: Through our "Research on Improvements to Legislation and Regulations for an Inclusive School Environment," we developed 13 legislative and guideline proposals to support more inclusive policies.
