With funds donated through GlobalGiving as well as by many other generous donors, the Near East Foundation was able to provide food packages to 500 needy families in the vicinity of Nablus during the month of Ramadan in 2007. Each package consisted of:
10 kg rice 4 liters of cooking oil 1 kg barley 1 kg pasta 4 cans of cooked fava beans 1/2 kg powdered soup 2 cans of tomato sauce 1 kg sesame candy 1/2 kg tea
NEF also provided supplemental food aid to an additional 400 families during feast days (eid).
