It's never to late to learn about wildlife and the environment!

Kids and adults meet Lucky the elephant
Kids and adults meet Lucky the elephant

Last month, a group of 340 senior citizens from Takeo Province were able to visit Phnom Tamao Wildlife Rescue Center for the first time! After more than 500 children and young adults visited the rescue center for International Children's Day in June, the seniors lamented that only younger community members were able to visit. So- our Kouprey Express education team partnered with Daughters of Charity to bring the older community members to the rescue center and experience it for the first time. The community members enjoyed doing the same activities that the children do on their educational trips and our Kouprey Express team said it was one of the most fun trips they've ever led!

You can watch a video of the trip here.

On these field trips, visitors learn about different animals native to their country and the perils the animals face. The visitors are then given the chance to put their new knowledge to the test to identify different species while seeing firsthand the impact of wildlife trafficking. The animals at Phnom Tamao Wildlife Rescue Center have been rescued from the wildlife trade, so when people meet all the animals at the center it puts into perspective the vast impacts the illegal trade has.

So far, over 5,500 students and adults have been inspired to care about Cambodia's wildlife through our field trips.
