Congregations Still Without Safe Places to Worship

By Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri | Project Leader

Dear Donors,

We sincerely thank our generous donors for their support toward the Rebuild Burnt Churches in Northern Nigeria project. Your kindness brings hope to congregations that have lost their places of worship. However, more support is still needed before reconstruction can begin. We respectfully appeal for additional donations so this important mission can move forward.

Across parts of northern Nigeria and the Middle Belt, many churches were destroyed during violent attacks. Buildings that once brought people together for prayer, fellowship, and encouragement were burned or severely damaged. Today, many congregations gather outdoors or under temporary shelters, exposed to harsh weather and without proper facilities.

These places of worship served as centers of faith, unity, and community life. Their destruction has left families without safe spaces to gather, worship, and support one another. Children and elderly members are among those most affected, as they no longer have suitable environments for worship and spiritual growth.

This project will rebuild up to ten damaged churches in partnership with local church leaders and builders. Reconstruction will include new roofing, walls, doors, windows, and essential furnishings. Each church will be restored to provide a safe and stable place where congregations can gather again.

Restoring these churches will help bring stability and renewed hope to affected communities. Families will once again have a place to pray together, and community bonds can begin to strengthen again.

While we are grateful for the support already received, additional funding is required before construction work can begin. We kindly invite more donors to support this effort so these congregations can return to safe places of worship.

Sincerely,

Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
