As many of you are aware, Savannah Research Centre's camp faced severe floods on the 9th of February, 2023, which led to significant damage. A substantial part of our infrastructure, including four large tents, a water pump, and several crucial work gadgets, were washed away and damaged. These items comprise: 1 Gas cylinder, 1 Generator, 2 Wardrobes, 1 Tent deck, 8 Beds, Sleeping bags, 4 Camp chairs, 2 Tables, 6 Laptops, 2 Cellphones and several precious lab specimens.
We cannot express enough gratitude to our donors whose generous contributions have significantly aided our recovery process. Thus far, we have managed to replace the four big tents and purchase a new water pump, marking a considerable recovery milestone and the return to a fully functional camp.
Despite the challenges experienced, we're gradually recovering thanks to the continued support and thoughtful donations. The next phase in our recovery mission is to focus fundraising efforts towards replacing the lost equipment that is vital for SRC's expansive and impactful research and conservation work.
Once again, we want extend our deepest appreciation for your unwavering support which is instrumental in helping us rebuild SRC and continue our mission.
