This project is targeted at checking the health status of pregnant women and infants in under served communities in Nigeria in order to ensure that the pregnant women and infants don't lose their lives due to lack of medical help. The project includes giving prenatal medications to pregnant women and required vitamins to infants. It also includes educating the pregnant women on ante natal and post natal necessities, the distribution of mosquito nets ,birth kits and baby care products.
Everyday in Nigeria, thousands of Mothers and babies die at child birth due to lack of ante-natal, post natal medical care, ignorance of vital health information, lack of sterile and hygienic delivery supplies and maternal malaria. Steer for change will be providing 1000 pregnant women and nursing mothers/babies with free medical check up, distribution of birth kits and baby care products, life savings health information, distribution of mosquito nets and free medications.
Steer for Change provides free medical check up, health information, distribution of birth kits and baby care products, distribution of mosquito nets, free vitamins to indigents pregnant and nursing mothers who has limited or no access to health care centers. The mothers are well informed/trained on how to care for their babies and the kits will be used in taking delivery of babies during labor to ensure safe and hygienic delivery which will reduce the rate of maternal and infant death.
The project will educate and treat 1000 women on ante-natal and post natal care, we will be promoting good health and well-being of pregnant women and newborn babies. By educating the women with the education and experience, we will be reducing maternal and infant mortality in Nigeria.
