This project will educate 600 secondary and high school students at Veal Pong High school in Kampong Speu province about the problem and causes of using plastic to people and animals health and environment through arrange groups discussion in the class, short videos showing, question and answers, provided Eco-friendly water bottles, collecting trash in the school, install garbage cans, live show talk in social media to make awareness, 9 female university students empower to lead this campaign.
Based on the report of UNDP website in Cambodia released on June 7, 2018, there are around 10 million plastic bags uses every day in Phnom Penh. Currently, still increased as notably for the whole country. The biggest problem is that plastic does not biodegrade easily. It stays around for thousands of years. Slowly, it leaks chemical substances that are harmful for the environment, for animals and for people. This campaign will educate 600 students directly and make awareness to 3000 indirect.
The campaign will provide knowledge to students about various causes of plastics to human and animal health and natural environment, situations of using plastic in Cambodia, discuss to find solution how to reduce using plastic together. Students are also bring this new knowledge to share with their friends and family. The campaign also make awareness of causing of using plastics through social medias on live show and audiences can ask question to speaker and MC or share their concerns too.
The project will educate 600 secondary and high school students directly in the class about cause of plastics, situation, improvement, change habit , reduce using plastic by use Eco-friendly water bottles for improve family economic . Collecting trash campaign in the school and install 10 garbage cans to changes student's habit, keep trash properly, improve school environment, participation of students.Live show to make awareness to people through social media, 3000 people will be reach.
