The Refugee Education Support for 500 Children in Kano project is still in its early implementation stage with a total funding goal of $43,000. At present, no donations have been received, and there are no monthly contributors yet, leaving the full project budget still outstanding. This means the project has not yet been able to scale any of its planned activities such as the procurement of learning materials, setup of safe learning spaces, or deployment of trained teachers.
Despite the financial gap, preparatory engagements with local stakeholders and community structures are ongoing to ensure readiness once funding begins to come in. The implementation framework, including student identification processes, learning assessments, and psychosocial support structures, has been mapped out and is ready for activation.
At this stage, progress remains dependent on securing initial funding, which will determine the pace at which 500 displaced children can be enrolled and supported. Once funding begins, priority will be given to classroom setup, distribution of educational materials, and recruitment of trained facilitators to ensure immediate learning impact.
