Education is the fastest way to restore hope for refugee children who have lost everything. This project will give 500 displaced children in Kano State safe access to quality basic education, learning materials, and emotional support. By removing financial and social barriers to schooling, the project ensures vulnerable children return to classrooms, rebuild routine, and develop essential literacy and life skills needed to thrive despite displacement.
Refugee children in Kano are being left behind at an alarming rate. Conflict and displacement have disrupted schooling, while poverty, trauma, and lack of materials keep children out of classrooms. Many face risks of child labor, early marriage, and exploitation. Without urgent education support, these children may never acquire basic reading, numeracy, or social skills, trapping them and their families in long-term poverty.
This project delivers a proven, community-based education response for refugee children. We will support 500 children through school supplies, textbooks, trained teachers, and safe learning spaces. Trauma-informed teaching, remedial lessons, and psychosocial support will help children catch up academically and emotionally. Attendance tracking, learning assessments, and local partnerships ensure effective implementation and measurable progress throughout the project period.
Educating refugee children creates lasting change for families and communities. This project will improve literacy, school retention, and emotional resilience, enabling children to progress into formal education and productive adulthood. Over time, educated children are less vulnerable to exploitation and more likely to contribute positively to society. The project strengthens community stability while breaking cycles of poverty caused by displacement.
