With the first donation we received for this project, we have ordered a greenhouse from MSC Invernaderos in the Dominican Republic. The greenhouse is being manufactured and will be built in the next few months.
In the meantime, our team has been fine-tuning the details to build out the hydroponics system, develop a business plan and budget the first phase of the system. We are planning a system that will have between 25-50 vertical towers with a potential to produce 6 cycles of produce per year.
We have also conducted workshops with local farmers from Miches and surrounding communities about compost and sustainable agricultural production. We are working to maintain existing relationships and establish contacts with new communities.
