Tailor-made computer course
Tailor-made computer course

For people living in Taiwan, autumn is the most pleasant season in the whole year. Sunny, cloudless, and cool... In addition to regular rehabilitation training, the TDTB also took this weather advantage to visit some beautiful spots in Taipei with our visually impaired friends.

From September to mid-November 2018, major activities/events in this Association are listed as followed:

  1. Computer Courses: The TDTB has delivered 104 hours of one-on-one lectures to individuals with visual impairment form September to mid-November 2018. In these tailor-made courses, we worked with visually impaired people/students and tried to solve their problems with computers or smart phones.
  2. Vocational Training: After eight-month intensive course, 11 visually impaired trainees have graduated from the TDTB vocational training this year. From March to November 2018, they have learned how to work with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other application software. We are now helping these graduates to get a suitable job. The goal is to ensure at least 1/3 graduates be employed by the end of February 2019.
  3. Experience Sharing: From September to November 2018, the TDTB held three experience sharing gatherings. We invited three speakers to share their experiences on overcoming visual disabilities. Over 40 visually impaired people benefited from these lectures.
  4. Mental Health: During this period of time, this Association has arranged 70 hours of psychological counseling for 6 visually impaired persons in need. We also organized four outdoor activities, and invited more than 160 visually impaired people and volunteers to explore the Taipei City.
