Project Report | Jun 24, 2015
Report of rehabilitation program, June, 2015

By Evelyn Yang | coordinator of promotion group

With your support, we have held many computer courses as we can.  From March to June, we have focused on three kinds of classes:

1.the NVDA one by one training (learning how to use screen reader “NVDA”).

2.Reading group classes (help blind students learning how to write an article and how to express the thought of the books in the class).

3. the classes for teachers and parents (how to aid visually impaired students).

From March to June, we finished recording four books in DAISY format.  The topics of these four books describe Taiwanese Literature and Taiwan Historical Location Introduction.  These books will be given to visually impaired people free of charge.

From March, we hold a seminar called “sharing life experiences ”  We invited many visually impaired people to share their valuable life experiences. For those who are unable to come to our conference room, they can use “Skype” to join the seminar, too.  Topics of sharing life experiences are abundant, such as investing, exercising, traveling and even learning English…etc.  We also provide psychology counseling services. Our social workers talk to the visually impaired one by one and learn to know their real needs.  Next step, we look for professional counselors to do remedy and try to recover their mental health.

Maintain and Enlarge the Taiwan DAISY Library continuously.

This Online library is constructed in 2010, and visually impaired person is welcome to be a member from that time.

The library now has over 479 members and provides over 4500 DAISY books. (June 2015)
