At-Risk Youth Education Sponsorship Program

8th report of Les Enfants de Dieu for all the actions in these last three months were very impressive and busy with full of commitment of achieving the great work before the end of year and plan for the new of 2018! Our main work was focused on the rescued street kids, providing the basic needs for kids, preparing families, reintegrating children in their families, and organizing the big family reunion which hosted about 450 people.  In addition to these activities, we also rescued other street kids and planned for school time of 2018. Additionally, we had election of new government (For EDD ministry system).  It is not possible to achieve all of these great successes without putting the hands together with individuals around the world and global giving! It is not the end-- it’s time to go farther together!!

Les Enfants de Dieu managed to rescue 34 children from the street where 8th December we recruited 12 kids from the street.  By 18th December before the center had a big family reunion and Christmas event, we recruited 22 other kids while preparing the family reunion and rejoicing together with newcomers! 

EDUCATION:   Les Enfants de Dieu is very pleased about the great success of national school results for the center students who were in primary 6 and senior 3 who completed national exams, ending the academic year in mentioned levels! There are four levels and the best performances come in first and second categories. In senior 3, 4 came in the first two categories and of the P6 students, half came in the first & second categories.  The ones who did not pass joined nine or twelve basic school or vocational trainings schools. We have 221 total children in different levels of schools, including the one we highlighted who are performing well in general in their schools and this was a major area of your support

HOME AFFAIRS AND WELLBEING of the boys:  EDD supplied clothing, shoes, hygienic products, three meals a day, health care and other home needs for 110 children which happened because of the contribution of all of you.

STORY: With all your contribution you made towards health care, Les Enfants de Dieu had a boy called Sunday who had a closing eye.  This made him feel neglected in his family.  He joined the center the beginning of 2017 and for the first visit we made in Sunday's family, we were so surprised to see he was the only child in a family of 5 siblings who did not join a school.  We decided to help him to correct his eye problem and reintegrate him with a nice-looking eye.  After his eye problem was corrected, he visited his family and his whole family was surprised and told others from the extended family with the same problem. Sunday is a happy boy and ready to join a vocational training school in this week as he has is 18 years old.

MINISTRY SYSTEM (children's government):  For 12 years, Les Enfants de Dieu chose this unique model of giving the right to beneficiaries to participate in daily management of the project by equipping the children with leadership skills and participating in finding the solutions of their problems and together planning the transparent model for the life of the organization.  EDD’s former children’s government organized the election for the government of 2018.  Now EDD is governed by a new government!!

REINTEGRATION:  As usual, Les Enfants de Dieu had a large number of children at the end of the year who have returned to their families after a long journey of preparing families and children to reunify again.  Specifically we have a high number of 40 children who reintegrated in their families within a month and half.  It is a success of one step, but it is an increase in the work of the center in the future by providing follow-up and payment for their education until they finish their high school or vocational training school. We are optimistic that together we can!!  Additionally to that, we plan a big family reunion and Christmas event where all reintegrated kids, youth and men with current children, educators and visitors come together to meet as a family and celebrate the year’s achievement.  This year approximately 450 people ecame together!
