At-Risk Youth Education Sponsorship Program

We, Les Enfants de Dieu (EDD) are honored to update you of what has been going on in our program as education sponsorship is concerned.

This is seventh progressive report of Education Sponsoring program for about 250 students who are studying at different education revels (Primary, Secondary and University). It is sure that Without your generous support their chance for education would remain impossible. we are always grateful for your kind-hearted extended to our program especially to our beneficiaries.

 As you know this education sponsorship program is helping solely the former street children/youth who had been   rehabilitated under our former rehabilitation program carried out over previous years. We are taking this opportunity to share with you about what was going on over the last three months.

Your contribution has enabled us to cover the payment of   school fees, school materials, school follow up charges for our students over last school term.

Les Enfants de Dieu is delighted to share the success of EDD in paying school fees through different donors support for all children and youth who was under the school program. We paid school materials, transports and other additional needs for only 23 boys who didn’t have a chance to get a help from their families or families relatives. We had 8 students who are under internship program and we thank you   that the support also enables us to pay their internship required charges.

We are also pleased to give our thanks to GlobalGiving team with their trainings, guidance, and field visits for how Les Enfants de Dieu could be successful in our daily endeavor. Above all, we value your great initiative of helping thousands of organizations and millions of people who are in need around the world!

As the school resumes, the program after a long period of nearly 9 months without studies, it was a challenging moment where may students was less motivated in school. Some of the students were pretending to stop their studies because of being tired of this global pandemic covid- 19.

We are so delighted to see the positive progress for children performances in this school second term where the results went up comparing to the first term. But we are counting 9 children who failed to continue their studies in this year.

A story of boy called François:

 Francois joined the Les Enfants de Dieu in April 2019, with his own words, I was a boy of discipline and work for people even I was living on street. I didn’t know to read or write as I didn’t get a chance to study in my past life. Only a year and half I spent at EDD was a fruitful year in learning all basic in reading, writing and numbers. Which made me prove to the EDD educators that I can do well in vocational training studies. In school, I am one of the students who are competing with other students and pass well to them mostly in practical work. I am studying hairdressing and preparing to start internship soon. I was amazed by seeing myself as student who are going to graduate in hairdressing and become professional in my career.  Basing to the fact that I didn’t know my daddy and lost my mum before she tells me my daddy. I was raised by my grandma in tough life till I left my family and join the street life. Now am very optimistic for better future in additional to three facts (learning reading and writing in one year and half, gaining trust from people and learning what I love to do the most).

EDD is ready to partner with all of you in supporting students who are in education program, we have a limited budget as we didn’t raise much for this year. The total early budget is around 20 thousand USD par year.  We still aim at raising the rest of this budget for this 3^rd term where we need nearly 6 thousand USD, always relying on your kind heart and a helping hand.

For the update, we are preparing another project of early childhood development program where will start with ECD at the Center. Looking to partner again once we launch out this project.
