Progressive report on education sponsorship
Empower Develop Dignify-EDD is very excited to update all of you on EDD education sponsorship progress for the alumni who are still under education. We are in school big holidays from the middle of July up September 2023.
EDD is happy to let you know that EDD in partnership with GlobalGiving and all of you who donated to this program made us reach the end of a school without any pending amount not paid.
EDD paid school fees and materials for the following students: 172 students in total where 31 students are in primary schools and 139 students are in secondary while 2 are in Vocational training studies.
This school term started April 2023, EDD paid around 6,100,000rwf equal to around of $ 6,000 to pay for the mentioned number of students. We acknowledge the contribution of all you who donated through this globalgiving platform!
Story Thomas, my name is Thomas, i am 18 years old and happy to be supported by EDD over the years. My life was supposed to be impossible without the EDD support.I didn't get a chance to know any parent or family relative. I was raised from Centers from my young childhood up to the closure of the rehabilitation of EDD program. out of EDD, i still depend on the EDD support from food, school fees, materials, etc.. My high school studies didn't go well because of other factors but now I am happy that EDD accepted to give me a chance to shart hospitality in a short period(6 months ) and things are progressing very well! In three months, I will start a new career which I enjoy the most ! I take this moment to thank EDD and all people who supported EDD and me over the years.
The new school academic year will start in September. We are looking for a serious partner who can stand with us so that we can be able to send many students to vocational training. It's the easy way for the students they can end their studies soon and be able to access the job market. Alumni are strangling to continue their normal school academics while they are feeling aged to that.
