Empower Develop Dignify (EDD) – Making History Together!

Since 2016, EDD, in partnership with GlobalGiving and amazing supporters like you, has transformed lives by providing vocational training in hospitality, hairdressing, plumbing, electricity, and other trades. These programs have created a lasting impact on our alumni, their families, and their communities.

As we approach the end of the academic year, many of our students under EDD’s educational support are preparing to complete their studies. Currently, we have 27 students in school—one finishing primary school, and 26 in high school, with 9 set to graduate this year (2024-2025).

A Story of Hope: Janvier’s Journey

"If EDD wasn’t there, my education would have been an impossible dream." – Janvier

Janvier joined EDD in 2010 as a 6-year-old after facing a difficult childhood. Rejected by his mother, mistreated by his stepmother, and left with no home, he ended up on the streets for a year. When EDD took him in, he struggled even to describe where he came from, making it a nine-year journey for EDD’s social workers to locate his family. Even when they found them, his family was not ready to support him. But EDD never gave up. Today, Janvier is in Secondary 5 with a clear vision for his future—one filled with hope and opportunity.
