We are thankful to all the donors for providing continuous support to the needy children with disabilities of Nepal. Till date you gave us more than $35000 with 179 donors. We hope for your support during the days to come. Even in the COVID-19 worse situation, we are successful in providing the necessary support to the children. This is possible because of your support. GREAT THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN!
Here is a brief description of the support programs:
Blanket distribution to Children with Disabilities
This time blanket is distributed to children with disabilities according to their needs. Currently, Kathmandu is facing cold weather. The temperature went down nearly to zero degrees. To be safer from cold weather, CBR provided 60 Children with Disabilities with blankets. The blankets were distributed in presence of local government authorities and well-wishers.
Meeting with Local Government and Parent to Re-open Physical class for Children with Disabilities
Due to the present situation, the organization was not able to run the daycare class for children with disabilities in full capacity. But this time, a meeting with the local government and Children with Disabilities parents has been arranged to run the physical class. Most of the parents are supporting running the physical daycare class. A certain rule is that those who got the covid-19 vaccine agree to take them but for those who do not have the covid-19 vaccine, we are not taking them. We manage the class in alternative ways. But we could not able to run the bus due to less number of children with disabilities students. However, we are planning to start in the mid-month of Magh 1 Feb 2022 using safety protocol. We arrange parents meeting to discuss running the class in a systematic way and normal way. With this class, that children with disabilities will be able to engage in some activities to make their brains busy and make them happy.
One of the students has expressed that “In the corona pandemic, I was being very frustrate and anger but after the school reopen I am very happy and enjoying every moment with my friend”
Home Visit Counselling and physiotherapy
Home visit counselling and physiotherapy were done with our expertise. At this time most of the parents of children with disabilities went into depression due to the job loss and tension of the current situation. So, counselling services have also been provided. Also, some got physiotherapy at home. Altogether, 5 home visits along with counselling services have been provided to the families of Children with Disabilities.
