Dear friends!
We hope this letter finds you well. We would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude for your unwavering support in making a difference in the lives of Ukrainian IDPs and refugees.
Women’s Federation continues to organize online art workshops for adults and children from Ukrainian families, both in Ukraine and abroad. The project has been running for two years and has developed into an integration event. The sessions are led by experienced psychologists and art therapists.
During one of the sessions, for example, the participants made a cottage for Kotigoroshko inspired by a Ukrainian fairy tale, origami and paper flowers that fulfill wishes. They also made fortresses with magical power and protection, and beautiful vases filled not only with ordinary fruits and berries, but also with health, well-being and positivity. Thanks to such integrative activities, children and adults not only develop their creativity and creative potential, but also find emotional balance and experience positive emotions.
On the night of June 6, 2023, the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant was blown up. The importance of assisting refugees affected by the explosion cannot be overemphasized. In cooperation with partners, our organization assisted in the evacuation of people from flooded areas, delivering food and medicines to Kherson City and surrounding communities.
We bought 12 solar panels, a charging station, 3 generators, and two inflatable boats to rescue people from the affected areas.
On 15 of July, a picnic for refugees was held at the aquapark in Jüterbog, Germany, as part of integration projects for Ukrainian families living abroad. Around 50 people attended, including many newcomers from nearby towns. Women's Federation volunteers prepared refreshments: fruit, snacks and drinks. Adults and children actively swam and socialized in the pools. The picnic lasted a full eight hours, but no one wanted to leave because everyone was so happy to meet. The main aim of such projects is communication and positivity, integration work with anyone who needs attention and social interaction, which is particularly important when you are far from home.
Throughout the summer season, we continued to receive many requests for help through social media from families affected by the war. We would like to share with you the story of one very needy family and the charitable help they received.
The family consists of the mother Anastasia and her 12-year-old son Alexander. They went through hard times living in occupied Enerhodar and have now moved to the Kyiv region. The family asked for help with basic necessities, starting with food, which they unfortunately could not afford.
This story is just one example of how our organization can help those in need. Your generosity and support really do make a difference in people's lives.
