INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

She makes the world bright, but still struggles to see light.

Rescue foundation was established to accelerate the progress on meeting needs of survivors. While rehabilitation we stand behind survivors equal participation in all aspects of their lives, focusing on five priority areas: enhance knowledge by providing formal and informal education, help them to upgrade their healthy, increase strength to face the world with legal aid program, self-realization and actualization by counseling and build a new confidence and economically sustainability by vocational training and providing jobs.

Our three protective homes is an actual home for them where they grow, achieve energy and strength to cope and face with the world. We not only help them to learn how to face and fight under critical circumstances but also we they learn how to nurture own self and live in harmony hence after.

Besides Challenge of identification of our investigators in the brothel or Attacks of perpetrators on us, we are still optimistic toward any risk to save innocent lives from the clutches of evil. It also strengthen us to develop more and more effective strategies to attain our goal of rendering humanitarian lives to more and more girls and help them regain their human rights.

Mission: to prevent and protect children and young adults from trafficking for sexual exploitation, our mission is to reinstate human rights to victims of human trafficking, trafficked from Bangladesh, Nepal and India who are sexually abused and are sold for forced prostitution.

Project Description

Rescue, Rehabilitation and Repatriation of victim girls/women/children of Human Trafficking who are sold for forced prostitution.

Regular Activities

Investigation and Identification.
Rescue.
Rehabilitation.

Legal aid.
Vocational training.

Repatriation.

Staff

Currently Rescue Foundation has a Staff of about 81 members, including the president, a Project Executive, Advocates, Probation Officers, Counselors, Doctors and other administrative staff.

Beneficiaries

The beneficiaries are girls /women /children who are victims of Human Trafficking and are sold for forced prostitution. They have lost all faith on mankind due to the physical & mental Torture in the Brothels as well as intricate brain wash. They are underprivileged and most of them are illiterate.

Statistics from 1^st February 2021 to 31^st May 2021 :

Number of Investigations: 30

Number of Rescue Raids: 33

Number of Rescued Girls: 149

Admitted to our Three Home (includes victim transferred from government homes / or by police): 146

Repatriation of Victims (handover to Parents or Native Ngo): 123

Total Number of Girls Provided with Medical treatment/Checkups:

General Checkup : 149
Hospital Visit : 62

IN the Month of February we organized a dental camp and dental kit distribution in Kandivali Shelter Home. A total of 60 women and girls were screened for dental health. Volunteers helped the girls in understanding the need for dental hygiene and gave them valuable tips.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY : March 8 is celebrated as Women's Day globally to commemorate the cultural, political, and socioeconomic achievements of women. Each year, we celebrate this day in all our homes and conduct cultural and sporting events for beneficiaries. At the end of the day, winners are awarded with prizes and certificates.

A renowned dietician of the locality visited our Kandivali Shelter Home and interacted with our girls. She informed them about healthy eating habits and how it brings positive changes in their body and mind.

Every month, across all our homes, we conduct multiple activities which are organized by our staff or with the support of partners. Several of these activities are aimed at health, wellbeing, and fitness. Recreational activities are also fun and enable creative expression through dance and other arts forms. Previous year due to the pandemic we were unable to conduct recreational activities, especially outdoor ones, and with the effects of COVID still lingering we had to plan something safe. So we took the girls to our Boisar home for a picnic, where they got a chance to enjoy themselves. They enjoyed themselves, playing outdoor games, went to the riverside and visited the Boisar farm where they plucked fresh fruits.
With the hit of the second wave of COVID-19 in the country, low-income families have been adversely affected. This month our Co-Founder personally went and distributed 200 Food Item Kits in tribal areas of Palgarh District.

CHILDREN'S PARLIAMENT:- IN November month we organized second session of Children's Parliament in our Kandivali Home. It is an initiative by Rescue Foundation to support our girls in speaking their mind, develop their soft skills and talk about issues close to their heart. Girls shared their views about women and child rights, food security system, friendships and more. At the end of the session they were provided with certificates and their mentors received Letters of Appreciation for the hard work and efforts they put in to prepare our girls.

INTERNATIONAL CHILD PROTECTION WEEK: - We organized Bal Mohatsav in our Kandivali Shelter Home on the occasion of International Child Protection Week. The week is observed to raise awareness about child rights issues, addressing the issues of child abuse and working towards building a child friendly environment.

On January 26th, we celebrated the 72nd Republic Day of India. Each year this day is celebrated with great zeal and excitement with programs across all our homes.

Healthcare is a vital part of our care and protection program. We aim to organize such camps on a regular basis as it helps us to intervene at an early stage and prevents any serious healthcare issue. Women and girls under our care and protection have been through traumatic sexual exploitation. Their living condition prior to the admission to Rescue Foundation was horrible. At our homes, we ensure their complete healthcare. This month we organized the Complete Blood Count test for our girls.

We are extremely proud of all our survivors who passed their exams with flying colours. This year a total of 18 survivors appeared for their Higher Secondary Certificate and Secondary School Certificate. We wish them best of luck for their future endeavors and become a source of inspiration for our other survivors.

Each year we celebrate multiple festivals across all our homes. Ganesh Chaturthi is a Hindu festival, celebrating the arrival of Ganesha from the Kailash Parvat, with his mother goddess Parvati. Survivors from all shelter homes actively participated in the celebrations. An idol was installed for five days.

"I really enjoyed teaching the girls, I'm still one of them, but now they look upto me"

That was told to us by one of the girls who had taken on the role of a trainer during the lock-down, since teachers and trainers couldn't travel. Several girls stepped up over the last 4 months and took on various responsibilities, serving as inspiration for Project Ekatra, named to signify that together we can achieve anything.

Independence Day: We celebrated 74th year of freedom & Independence in all our Shelter Homes with zeal and enthusiasm. Our survivors prepared various dance routines on patriotic songs. This year API From Manor Police Station visited our Boisar Home as Chief Guest & appreciated our survivors for putting up a great show.
