Challenge

The people of Bwera border zone, in Kasese District of Southwestern Uganda, Africa, are in great need of donations following the recent massive floods that destroyed much of the area on 22nd May 2020," Many homes and public health infrastructure were destroyed by the floods and tens of thousands are badly affected." The current worries are the conditions in the camps where the displaced people now live, will increase their vulnerability of contracting COVID 19, Cholera, dysentery if not assisted

Solution

The provide will provide: food, mosquito nets, sanitary pads, anti-malarial drugs, clothes, blankets, kitchen kits, psycho social support, safe water kits, face masks, sanitizers, surgical and disposable gloves, tarpaulins and mama kits. With the current COVID 19 and the outbreak of Ebola in DR Congo which borders the Bwera area in Kasese Western-Uganda, these vulnerable communities are left starving and many homeless as their property and farmlands have been swept away by river floods.

Long-Term Impact

The project will enable 100 most affected households by the floods to have the urgent basic needs during this disaster. The project will mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and other diseases from affecting these people. The project will enable them to rise and transition from the devastating impacts of the floods' disaster. This project will mitigate death that would come as a result of hunger and lack of clean water.
