Ockhi Cyclone families in 5 blocks of Kaniyakumari District belong to daily wage earning groups and tribal communities. Their houses have been damaged. Their livelihoods have been devastated. Supporting their Children with education will transform their lives. Because this is the first generation to go to school. Supporting livelihoods will break poverty and build families.
Fishing communities of Kaniyakumarai District were shocked with the fury of Ockhi Cyclone. The heavy rains that followed during first week of December has affected the tribal communities involving in agriculture and rural artisan works. The high velocity cyclonic winds have devastated their houses and livelihood options. School going Children have lost their books and notebooks. They have not yet received supports
Supply of new books, notebooks, education utilities will encourage first generation of school going Children. This project will also pay fees for Children of daily wage families and tribal communities. We are also planning to provide Nutrition support by providing Nutrition Mix, small grains and healthy foods because they lack nutrition. This support will transform families and thereby communities.
