The Food Relief Impact During COVID!!

Meet with Urmila's ......!!

My name is Urmila (Name Changed). I am 32 years old. I have 3 children and husband in my family. We live in Barar village. We work as blacksmiths. We live in our hut and live by our daily income. But due to Corona virus (Covid-19), our daily income also stopped when the government imposed a lockdown. There was also not enough ration to eat at home. Whatever we used to get from the people around, we used to live in it but it could not last for long.

One day a survey was conducted by the Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan for distribution of ration in the village, in which we were also selected. When I told this thing to my husband and children, they jumped with joy. There was not even a single grain of food in our house. During this time we were distributed ration by the organization which included flour, rice, lentils, all kinds of spices, salt, soyabean, oil, bath soap, laundry soap, etc. along with a hygiene kit which contained the sanitizer and masks that protected us from the corona epidemic. This ration kit will ensured our food supply for three weeks.

Due to this ration kit given by the organization, after several days, the stove was burnt and my family got a lot of food to eat. I breathed peace that day because there was a lot of ration material in my house. Now my family is getting two meals a day. We are now paying attention to our employment and collecting some income. Our family is happy now. I personally thank the organization. Also, I pay my personal Gratitude for the distribution of ration, through which my family is able to eat two meals a day and my children and husband are getting nutrition. I also thank the donors, through whose support I received a ration kit and a sanitation kit.

COVID-19 Mass Awareness on Ground

Corona pandemic is showing its devastating effect all over the world and there are so many people who are getting the virus as they do not know about the virus and its precautions. These people are those who do not have any digital gadgets and are living far away from the cities. These people are farmers, daily wages labour, slum or street people etc. The do not know how to protect themselves from this pandemic and are getting infected of this life threatening, virus named as novel corona virus. These people are in urgent need of awareness against the corona virus.

While watching this critical problem, RSKS India decided to help and support these people by doing mass awareness programs. The program – “Corona Awareness Through Snake & Ladders” was organized in 10 inaccessible areas with the valuable support of GG. In this program the farmers, daily wages labour, slum and street people were told about the safety precautions they can take to protect themselves from the pandemic and how to have better immunity. They were told with the help of snake and ladder game where snake showed things not to do and the ladder showed the things these people must do in order to protect themselves from this novel corona virus. This program spread awareness to so many people and these people were told to spread the awareness in their families and community. At the end of the program all the people took oath to follow all the corona safety protocols.

Mass awareness was possible as this program directly benefitted so many people and through them many more will be aware. Now these people will be able to work for increasing their immunity and will also be able to protect themselves from the novel coronavirus and will also protect their family. These people will now follow all the corona safety protocols and will always follow social distancing. Now these people know what to do and what not to do and the whole snake and ladder game was very easy way to make them understand this. All the people who attended the program and the village officials thanked the RSKS team for this wonderful awareness work in their area.

Baseline Survey for Covid-19 Ration Relief

Covid-19 has been a problem for everyone and now the second wave of the covid-19 is showing its devastating effects all over the world. There are so many people who are in urgent need of food as people have lost their employment due to covid-19. People who are living in slums, street, nomadic areas are suffering the most due to the covid-19 virus. These poor and needy people are dependent on others for food and for their survival in this pandemic. The situation of hunger for these needy families is getting worse day by day.

In this context, RSKS India gave helping hand to these slum, street, village and nomadic people by conducting baseline survey in their area for the Covid-19 Humanitarian Relief Program. This program of RSKS India distributes ration to people who are in dire need of it. RSKS Team members visited the slums, street and rural area to find people who are suffering the most due to shortage of ration and people who are in urgent need of ration for their survival. The RSKS Team visited door to door of every person to see the actual situation and support those people who are in actually need of the ration.

These slum, street and village families will get dry ration/groceries like flour, rice, pulses, spices, oil etc under the Covid-19 Humanitarian Relief Program of RSKS India. These people will get relief they needed the most and will be able to concentrate on new employment opportunities rather the concentrating on shortage of ration. The ration will secure their 3-4 weeks food security. All the people of the slum, street and nomadic areas got very happy and did not lost their believe on humanity.
