Emergency Relief for Disaster Affected Families

Dear Friend

My Name is Aaryak Singh and I have had the privilege of working with Rajasthan Samgrah  Kalyan Sansthan (RSKS) India as an Intern from 8th July 2024 to 3rd August 2024. During my time working with RSKS, I witnessed how smoothly and dedicatedly this organisation works for the marginalized communities.  

RSKS focuses on various fields such as Woman development, Education, Hygiene and etc. They weekly conduct activities such as Awareness on Menstrual Hygiene, Raising voice against Child Marriage and Violence Against Woman.

RSKS is dedicated to helping and bringing light on these under-privileged communities through their activities and donations. I was specifically involved in programs such as Girl Education, WASH, Better Livelihood, Gender Equality, Social Welfare and Make a Wish for Street and Slum Children where I worked as an Intern. My most fulfilling projects was working on Girl Education, where we went to these Villages and distributed School items such as handbag, pen, pencil, books, hygiene kit, uniform, and etc.

On a personal level, my work with RSKS has been transformative. I have developed valuable skills like working together in a team, Time Management and Public Speaking, I have grown both personally and professionally through this experience.

The dedication and passion of the RSKS team is truly inspiring. Their efforts have significantly improved the lives of countless individuals, providing them with opportunities for a brighter future.

I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this wonderful organisation and be part of such a meaningful work. I wish them all the success and best wishes for their future endeavour’s.

RSKS India organized a dynamic and engaging "Mass Awareness Program about Prevention & Treatment of Mosquito Borne Diseases" to educate over 500 families from 20 different slum and street locations. This program was designed to address the rising concern of diseases such as malaria and dengue, which are commonly spread by mosquitoes, especially in vulnerable communities living in unsanitary conditions. By using interactive tools like flipcharts, stories, and a special Snake & Ladder game, the program aimed to spread awareness about how to prevent mosquito-borne diseases and the importance of treatment if infected.

The program was held through multiple public awareness campaigns across the target locations, each tailored to be accessible and easy to understand for people of all ages, including children. Visual aids like flipcharts and stories were used to explain the life cycle of mosquitoes and how they spread diseases. The Snake & Ladder game, which is typically a fun activity for children, was modified to include messages about disease prevention. Players would advance by taking preventive actions like cleaning stagnant water, using mosquito nets, or seeking treatment early, while they would slide down if they ignored preventive measures or delayed medical attention. This interactive game became an engaging tool to reinforce the key health messages. In addition to these activities, the RSKS India team organized group discussions and talks to emphasize the importance of maintaining cleanliness in living areas. Families were taught how regular cleaning, proper disposal of waste, and covering water sources could prevent mosquito breeding. The program also provided information on recognizing early symptoms of mosquito-borne diseases and encouraged people to seek timely medical help, thereby reducing the chances of serious health complications.

The "Mass Awareness Program about Prevention & Treatment of Mosquito Borne Diseases" had a wide-reaching and lasting impact on the more than 500 families who participated. By using interactive methods such as the Snake & Ladder game and visual aids, the program successfully conveyed critical health messages in an engaging and memorable way. This approach not only educated adults but also engaged children, turning them into advocates for maintaining cleanliness and mosquito prevention within their homes and communities. One of the key outcomes of the program was a noticeable improvement in community awareness regarding the importance of hygiene and preventive measures. Families began to understand that simple actions like cleaning stagnant water, keeping their areas tidy, and using mosquito nets could significantly reduce the risk of contracting malaria or dengue.
